"Senior Citizens" 3 minute sketch for
3 elderly ladies. Scene: a park bench. Gert and Emma are recounting
their aches, pains and misfortunes. Sybil arrives and introduces them
to the elixir of life.
"Widows" a 10 minute sketch for three
younger women (30's) Scene: A small hotel room. Fiona, Camilla and
Nita meet up again three years after the tragedy in which they lost
their husbands. They are waiting for a government representative who
will inform them of the latest compensation offer. While they wait,
they review their lives as widows and come to the conclusion that the
single state has its compensations. However, as they watch Sir Kenneth
arrive from the window, they are shocked to see that he is not alone.
"Christmas Spirits" 6 minute sketch. No scene. 4 ladies, any
age. Gin, Whisky, Creme de Menthe and Vodka vie with each other to
prove their individual merits They convince each other that they
should all combine to make a Christmas Coctail.
"Penny Plain. Tuppence coloured."
Scene: the stage of a cut out theatre. Characters:The
Lady,(middle-aged) The Maid (young) The Cook (middle-aged). The
characters are about to be cut from the page and given the debut on
the cardboard stage. Unfortunately for them, the great lubberly boy in
charge of their fate is somewhat lacking in dexterity and patience.
